Rental cars, shuttles, and rideshare services are available from the airport to reach your accommodation. However, I recommend renting a car for your trip for easy accessibility to the many activities in the surrounding area.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is the closest major airport to Asheville. The drive from Charlotte to Asheville is less than 2 hours. I recommend comparing costs for flights into both AVL and CLT to find the most affordable option from your destination!

If you’re visiting around the holidays, a trip to the Biltmore is a must! They have incredible Christmas decor that draws thousands of visitors each Winter season.
Brewery Tour
Dive into Asheville’s vibrant craft beer culture with a brewery tour. A few of our favorites are Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, Wicked Weed, Hi-Wire, Green Man, Catawba or Highland Brewing Company to sample a diverse array of handcrafted beers.


Sierra Nevada is about 20 minutes outside of town, so I always recommend stopping here on your way in or out of town. They also have a great self-guided tour of the brewery that is always a hit with the men! If you’re not a beer lover, try the hard kombucha.
